This lovely book is from the original edition by Walter Crane (1845 - 1915), an English artist and book illustrator, published by Harper and Brothers, London, 1899, set forth in verses & coloured designs. While Tony Firman had been publishing prior to 2010, this is the year he began focusing on miniature books and established his publishing business, Plum Park Press, making small editions and selling them, issuing at least one a month. Firman's book, The Codex, recently won a distinguished award at Miniature Book Society's miniature book competition in 2024. His books are in many reputable institutions and private collections.

London: Edward Arnold, 1910. 292 pp. plus index and advertisements. 5 1/2 x 8 1/4". Later Edition. Green cloth over boards with gilt lettering and design on cover and spine, some wear to spine ends and slight corner bumping, front and rear hinges cracked, foxing primarily limited to end papers, frontispiece with tissue guard intact, black and white illustrations, 5 plans from 1752 to 1900s, in very good + condition.
Sir Ernest William Morris CBE (1866 - 1937), served as secretary and house governor of The London Hospital from 1903 - 1930. This detailed history describes the hospital starting from its foundation, the new Whitechapel site, the hospital management, a history of the Jewish wards, the medical school, and the administration of a modern hospital. The illustrations and plans help the reader visualize the hospital even more readily.

Grey cloth over boards with gilt lettering on cover and spine, cover has some stains, spine is worn with a little tear on the back side, red topstain, previous owner's name on ffep, tanning to pages, otherwise good+ condition.
Born Margaret Oliphant Wilson (1828 - 1897) was a Scottish novelist and historical writer. She usually wrote as Mrs. Oliphant. She often wrote about domestic realism, and historical novels but took to writing supernational fiction in the 1880's. This is a collection of stories that deals with after-death experiences.

Bound in crossed stab binding of handmade "Zebra Stripe" boards in a portfolio style case, two paper samples made in in Africa are missing, 15 line-drawn illustrations by Donna Thomas, letterpress printed on Peter's handmade "Zebra Stripe" paper, slight bowing to inside pages, in near fine condition. A beautiful book, both inside and out. Contains filigree alphabet letters and two bookplates of people well-known in the miniature book trade.

Cardboard slip case is in good condition with some splitting to edges, past repairs, paper label on spine indicating title and limited edition number; Blue cloth quarter bound over decorative boards with torn label pasted down to spine, many black and white illustrations by Gluyas Williams throughout, in near fine condition.
A delightful book about a book collector's travels around the world, particularly Scandinavia, London, Paris, Egypt, Jerusalem and Rome, all told from a very humorous perspective. Newton also authored The Amenities of Book-Collecting.
A Treatise on Venereal Disease

Brown cloth over boards with gilt title on spine and elaborate blind stamping on both covers and spine, some bubbling to the front cover, previous owner's name in ink on front paste-down endpaper, 8 black and white plates with illustrations, foxing to endpapers and page edges, spine ends show a little wear, some corner bumping, otherwise in very good + condition.
As noted on the title page, there were "copious additions by Dr. Philip Ricord, surgeon the the Hopital du Midi, Paris." This is a reprint of an edition by George Babington in 1837, along with the works of Hunter and Ricord. Topics include the origins/modes/forms of the Venereal Poison, Gonorrhea in Women and Men, Veneral Disease, Chancres, Buboes and more.

Herbert George Wells (1866 - 1946) is often called the "father of science fiction" along with Jules Verne and Hugo Gernsback. A Year of Prophesying is a collection of 55 essays by Wells, written for newspaper columns between 1923 and 1924. An insightful view of early 20th century history.

A lovely little abcedarium, cleverly constructed and beautifully illustrated throughout. Note that the species of bird does not necessarily coincide with the alphabet page it is on.
