Frank Norris (1870 - 1902) was an American journalist and author who is best known for his novel "McTeague", written in 1899. He was a member of the Bohemiam Club of San Francisco during the Gold Rush days. As a journalist, he worked for the San Francisco Chronicle and McClure's and traveled quite a bit through South Africa and Cuba. He died quite young after an appendicitis attack.
