Originally published in 1913, this is the 1924 Dodd, Mead reprint. Written as a play in 1908 by Belgian Maurice Maeterlinck, it was novelized by his innamorata, Georgette Leblanc. She herself was a French operatic soprano, actress, author, and the sister of novelist Maurice Leblanc. Translated by Alexander Teizeira De Mattos, this is a delightful children's tale of a girl called Mytyl and her brother Tyltyl seeking happiness, represented by The Blue Bird of Happiness, aided by the good fairy Bérylune.
