London: Jonathan Cape, 1977. 222 pp. 5 x 7 1/2"; First Edition. Dust jacket with wraparound art by Bill Botten, minor shelf wear, small chips at head of spine, priced £3.50 net to the inside flap, in very good + condition; Black boards with gilt titles, some foxing to page edges, some wrinkling to the bottom edges of several pages, otherwise in very good + condition.

The film takes its title from Ian Fleming's novel The Spy Who Loved Me, the tenth book in the James Bond series, though it does not resemble the novel's original plot in any way. Fleming's book version was very experimental and he did not want a film made from his book; so, the license to re-write the novel was given to Christopher Wood, who also wrote the screenplay.
