The Song of Songs is also known as the Song of Solomon. The story is about two lovers, praising and yearning for each other, rejoicing in their sexual intimacy. Rather unique for a biblical passage. In Jewish tradition, this love affair is seen as an allegory of the relationship between God and Israel. In the Christian tradition, the story can be viewed as an allegory of Christ and his "bride", the Christian Church. In modern Jewish tradition, the Song of Songs is read on the Sabbath during Passover.
