Glasgow: David Bryce and Son, (n. d.) circa 1900s. 272 pp. 2 1/2 x 3 1/2". Leather-backed wooden boards, engraved view of Melrose Abbey on front board, gilt spine, all edges red, light wear, front free endpaper coming loose, rear free endpaper detached, engraved frontispiece, otherwise in very good condition. (Garbett, p17, Welsh 1542)

This is the "Pearl Edition" of Burn's works, in a charming wooden binding. Melrose Abbey was once deemed to be one of the most beautiful buildings in Scotland and is the supposed burial of Robert the Bruce's heart. A fitting cover for the book of poetry by Scotland's National Poet, Robert Burns (1759-1796).
