[Glasgow: D. Bryce & Son, ca 1900]. [824 pp.] Approximately 3/4 x 1". Red morocco wrappers with elaborate gilt decorations on covers and spine, all edges gilt, near fine copy, attractively printed. Missing the metal case with magnifying glass. (Spielmann p. 274, Welsh 4174, Bondy p.111-112)
Text in Arabic. Printed as a photographic reproduction, the British supplied these to Muslim soldiers in World War I as a talisman. The calligraphy is rather unsophisticated, as common with miniature Qur'an. Once an abundant item, now considered to be scarce.
