This is a beautiful example of silver filigree bindings for eighteenth- and ninetheenth-century London almanacs. The Company of Stationers published miniature almanacs for a very long print run of over 230 years. While issued with different folding formats, they often had elaborately decorated paper covers or enhanced silver filigree bindings, like the one offered here, most commonly made by skilled Portuguese artisans living in London during this time period.
