Philip Gordon Wylie (1902 - 1971) was a prolific American author of science fiction, mysteries, and nuclear holocaust threats among other things. Interestingly, he wrote a fictional book, "The Paradise Crater", in 1945 about a Nazi conspiracy to develop and use uranium-237 bombs, months before the actual testing of such a device at Alamogordo, and was arrested by the Federal Government. Edwin Balmer (1883 - 1959) was an American science fiction and mystery writer, an editor, and a trained engineer. He is best known for his books with Wylie, "When Worlds Collide", and this sequel, which tells of the survivors of the prequel settling on a new planet, fighting off some Asiatic communists, and prospering after the destruction of Earth.
