Blue cloth spine over salmon-covered boards, gilt title on spine and gilt stamped title and illustration on cover, beautiful b&w woodcut illustrations throughout, in fine condition. Plain navy slip case is broken, taped, and missing a portion of bottom panel.
Designed by Rockwell Kent and privately printed by A. Colish, this book is a "Tribute to Democracy, to the Destiny of America, and as a strand in the rope of friendship that is uniting us in common effort".

Marbled paper-covered boards, cream paper-covered spine with 12 tipped-in illustrations, deckle edges, some foxing to pastedowns, red mark on spine title, otherwise in near fine condition. Marbled slip case is broken and missing a side so is barely functional. Only including it as it is somewhat scare and may perhaps be reparable.
A travelogue of the author's discoveries in printing as practiced around the world in places including the Far East, Cuba, Hawaii, Japan, Korea, Peking, New Guinea, New Zealand, Java, India and Europe.

The prequel to this book, "Little Knowledge" and then this book, "Catacomb Years" are about a theocratic regime repressively dominating the near-future America, until a visiting alien race is also converted, thus beginning the destablization of society.
